If you just finished watching the anime, I would recommend moving on to DaiDenYuuDen. The translators did a good job of translating the LN as the author writes similarly in another one of his novels, Itsuka Tenma Kuro Usagi. Sylvester Stallone is no old man, and he’s here to prove it. If I had to compare both, the anime is more upbeat than the light novel and the LN is actually depressing in a good way. The end of the anime, with Ryner vowing to to never give upon Sion and that hell catch up with him and repay him for saving him from himself.
